Why PMA.start?
PMA.start is a popular choice when choosing desktop slide viewer and has several advantages over other viewers.

 * Examine brighfield, fluorescent, and z-stacked slide content from the same environment
 * Plug and play support for external hard disks
 * ImageJ/FIJI plugin available for smooth transition of slide content for IA algo development
 * SDKs available through Github

Use cases
Use PMA.start to

 * Look at brightfield slides
 * Look at fluorescent slides
 * look at z-stacked slides

Because PMA.start also includes the PMA.core.lite tile server, you can use the software for automation, too.
