====== Conventional image support ======

Pathology involves more than microscopy images. Often, cases comprise of a mix of macroscopic as well microscopic image material. A macroscopic image can be a picture of a resection piece to indicate where a sample was harvested for further microscopic study.

In order to allow a uniform viewing experience, PMA.start supports a variety of common (conventional) camera file formats. This includes JPEG, JPEG2000, PNG, and TIFF.
