Digital Pathology is an outstanding tool to relieve workload related to slide sorting and retrieval. PIMS uses the case clinical information originating from the LIS or EMR to name and organise whole slide images by adding essential data required for easy identification of slides.

Status information coming from various process gate checks in the lab provide additional information to enhance your experience. The whereabouts of a slide is known at all times and visible to pathologists in their worklist.

PIMS has a dedicated module for Quality Control of the IHC staining process. The information* available in the IHC stainers that is shared via HL7 messages is captured by PIMS and associated with the available scanned slides. Expert lab technicians can approve and reject slides in the QC module. Finding all slides stained with an antibody lotnumber or any other relevant reagent/control tissue/instrument/user property is extremely easy with the search and filter function. With the timeline function it is possible to sort images and see them side by side with the points in time any quality parameter changed. This makes it easy to trace back first appearance of problems and perform a root cause analysis.
