General Electric's Omnyx scanner vendor company supported two file formats: a native format with RTS extension, and an exported JPEG 2000 format.

We found out by working with several of our customers that the JPEG 2000 exports are not always reliable. In a couple of instances, the used encoding causes memory problems. We attribute this to a faulty use of the encoder originally used by the vendor.

Unfortunately no patches are available for this.

The solution therefore is to use the native RTS file format instead of the exported JPEG 2000 format.
